One of my friend, whom I met during Sputum testing, said that the status is not changed for many days,
Others on the Forum who have received the passport after Sputum negative should post their experiences here & help members.
I request you to plz write here, once your Mom gets her Passport.Best wishes always!
    Hello sapnaanagol,
What I feel is, we should not check the status and should not worry about it. If the immigration officer said that the visa is approved and passport will come in 5 -6 working days, then keep heart, it will come. God bless.

    • My parents interview was on Tuesday and its Friday today so how many days its takes to get the passport back?
Also, Can anyone share the experience at Port of entry first time with this visa, Do they ask any questions? Is it very long process at the airport?

DQ date for my wife and me is 8th October 2021. We have not received IL yet. From different messages in the group, it appears to me barring few exceptions, ILs have not been issued beyond DQ dates 15th September 2021

What does your status on CEAC say? My moms interview was on Aug 23 (after sputum tests) and the visa officer approved her visa. However the CEAC status still says refused but last updated date keeps changing and is now sept 8. Passport is still with the embassy. Her medical expires on Oct 27 and she need to travel to US before that. I emailed and called support desk multiple times and they keep saying that the case is in process and I just need to wait. They are not providing any ETA or reason for delay.

Does anyone have any advice on this?

As I am sailing in the same boat as of your mother's,I asked my attorney. He has replied: I'm assuming they may be reviewing your medical report again.Do not think there should be an issue besides some delays. At this time have to wait.
Actuallythe Forum members with sputum problems are very few. After getting Visa & Passport, many do not write.
I request members to help others.Even if once its written,we can put our query in search & we get the answers.
You should inform here dream 2021 as soon as you get your moms passport.Thank you

Could you please share more, as to what mistake you were making ?

I am the petitioner for my parents green card, and have had a recent address change in the US. I am quite confused which forms to fill and where all ? Only AR-11 on USCIS ? Anything (any form or intimation) to NVC ? Or to the US Consulate in Mumbai ?

Even on USCIS website, it seems to suggest that if I have an online account, I should change my address through that account. But when I login, I do not find any option to specify/change my address. Do I need to create new accounts for the beneficiaries (my parents), which appears to be what you have been doing, right ?

                Thanks a lot.

PS: My parents have already completed their interview at Mumbai.

                  Dear rmalik
Do not worry. At the port of Entry they will not have any problem. After alighting from the aircraft they will walk to the terminal along with all the planeload people. There will be many staff persons who will guide them where to stand in queue. When their turn comes, the immigration officer will simply ask about the petitioner as in mumbai and will take photo on camera and may take fingerprints to ascertain the identity. There are other officers in the back office who will see them and put a thumbnail sized stamp on each passport and write entry date and IR5. Thats all. The american way to say 'go' is 'have a good day'. After that your parents will have to collect Baggage from the respective conveyer belt and load on trolley and come out.
If it is JFK, the trolley will cost 6 dollars. Got to insert six dollars in the machine and then the trolley gets released. There will be some good samaritan to help.

My parents got it done at Max Mohali, my mom went for additional Sputum test, no call, nothing after the results were available. I had to call them to check after 8 weeks for Sputum results. For Dad also they didn't give anything. Just take the paper they gave for appointment which consulate didn't even check. They send the results directly to the consulate.

                          Dear rmalik,
You should get your passport in 5 to 6 working days. You would get the mail/SMS from the consulate / courier service, possibly by Monday. Many of us have already posted our experience at the port of entry(POE). When you go to the regular counter at the POE, the usual questions are asked, biometrics is again done and then you can be escorted to a separate room and seated. There could be several people in that room. It can take anything from 30 to 45 minutes. Generally no questions are asked in this room. The passports will be stamped with the endorsement "admitted IR5" and handed back. In our case the experience was very different. Please see my post number 2380 page 159 of August 18, 2022. Best wishes.

we reached Chicago safely in the evening of August 17, after a comfortable but tiring journey. We travelled by Swiss air via Zurich. Because of my knee problem we had taken wheelchair for both of us. We went through the immigration within 5 minutes. They did the biometrics for my wife. She was just asked about who had sponsored us and where would we stay. Then my picture was taken. No finger printing. Our passports were stamped admitted under IR5 and that’s it. No waiting in a separate room.
Best wishes to all members of the forum.
Was it quicker because of the wheelchair? My mom had sputum test as well, it looks like if you don't get sputum test done then there is no sealed envelope which needs to be shown at the port of entry correct?
