Dear friends,
I calculated on the basis of global backlog of all immigration cases on March 31st, 2021 which was 494289.
Since then every month a certain number of IV cases were scheduled which tallied to 457465 till April 2022 end. This means that on 1st May 2022, there are 36824 cases left to be scheduled in May which I suppose they must be doing now. (In April they did 32439 cases and 32317 in March) So if this trend persists for May as well, all of the backlog for the DQD of March-April 2021 will be over and they are likely to receive IL very soon.
Please remember, these are global figures. Mumbai consulate, as seen in past 3 months, works for IR5 once in every 3 weeks. And that (auspicious) day falls on 10th of this month. So cross fingers AlienKanpur, and wait for congratulations from all of us.Last edited by GeoMac; 05-03-2022, 02:10 AM.

The same thing happened to my mom today, what did you do?They are asking for Sputum testOriginally posted by MonikaChou View PostMy Dad(IR5) was asked to complete the Sputum Test (End of February 2022) during the medical examination , and was asked not to go for the Interview at the Consulate.
He did complete his VAC appointment the same time. Today we came to know that his tests are negative. What happens know ? Does he need to do his VAC process again ? Can anyone help me and explain the process. Thanks in advance.

Great observation GeoMac. As per my extrapolation, all of February and partially March, DQd cases should get the IL in May 21, with interviews upto June. Since our DQ date is March 23, I expect to get the IL by mid June, with interview in July. Let us see how things shape up. What is your DQ date? Best wishes to all for the IL and successful adjudication.Originally posted by GeoMac View PostDear friends,

My parents went for check-ups, it was not a great experience for 76-year-olds.Their embassy appointment is on 13th May, My mom got something in her x-ray and now they are asking not to go to the embassy, we have all the booking done, don't know what to do now. I hope someone from this forum can help with next steps. My dad was questioned a lot because of his pre-existing condition, it was like an interrogation session. they gave both of them 4 shots each, my mom got some reaction. It's just painful at this point, not sure what to do.Originally posted by Meetapk View PostDoes the appointment get canceled if this happens?
when is it then rescheduled? Is this in mumbai rele clinic?
which vaccines did your mother take?

Dear Aviask2, I just checked the NVC website, surprisingly Kolkata has no approved hospitals. Way back in January this year, Kolkata was there and even Chandigarh was there. List seems to have been modified. Your best option would be Delhi. You can contact the Max hospital there on phone and they will confirm an appointment. Best wishes.Originally posted by Aviask2
Forparents96, do you know if the medical can be done anywhere in Kolkata? Browsing different sites, I could not find any location in Eastern States. Probably, I was not looking at up to date lists.
Keep us updated once you choose the place for medical.

All, thanks very much to the forum and all the participants here - it has been immensely helpful giving clarity on an otherwise obscure process. We have a DQ date of Feb 26, 2021 and was curious if anyone knows - once the IL comes through, is there a fixed date on which the interview needs to be scheduled, or can you select a date within some window (and if yes, how long do you have to schedule the interview)?
We'd love to have a family member help support during the medical/fingerprinting/interview process, which will require some scheduling as one of us will fly out from the US to India. Thank you again!

Dear pe307, please read my response number 1365 on a similar query, as yours. The IL for DQ date Feb. 26 is perhaps round the corner. Interview is likely to be in June sometime. Let me caution, these are extrapolations and things could be earlier or later. The interview DATE is fixed by the NVC, NO options are provided. Though there is a provision for rescheduling, but finding an alternative slot is just very very difficult and if you do find one, it could be far away in the future(my personal opinion). Consulate people strongly advise that one should adhere to the date provided. Best wishes.Originally posted by pe307 View PostAll, thanks very much to the forum and all the participants here - it has been immensely helpful giving clarity on an otherwise obscure process. Same thing happened to me as well. I sent the death certificate of my father and withdrew the application. It was cancelled from NVC side then.Originally posted by maneeshsah View PostI had filed GC application for both my father and mother back in April 2020. Unfortunately, my father passed away last year so I didn't submit the docs for him after the initial application. Last week, I got a notice from NVC about canceling his application due to no updates for a year. My question is -- should I notify NVC of his death? Does notifying or not notifying have any impact to my mother's application?
