This is what I see on the indian site:http://passport.gov.in/oci/statusEnqury

    Date Of Acknowledgment 03-MAY-2014
Registration Status at Mission NEW YORK CGI
    Documents Printing Status UNDER-PROCESS

Does this mean my new OCI cards are received at New York and are being prinited in NYC?

    Thanks

I had applied in beginning of APril @NY consulate.
They sent to indian consulate on April 30.
I am still waiting for it to show up at indian consulate.

Per previous posts, KC also had a lot of delay. Not sure if K_C got this cards.

    Hi Saiyan
When did you mail it? I keep hearing that NY office is delayed. Did you send to NY or other location? Thanks

I put the stickers onto the return envelopes and put that envelope inside the envelope along with my documents. I decided to send each one in a separate envelope to prevent the headache of putting the same tracking number for 3 files. It wasn't a big deal but it made it easier than the chance of files getting mixed up.

I had a cover letter, Order form, Particulars Form, then the remaining supporting documents. I found it strange why they would ask for return delivery now. Normally that would be sent when they request your passports for the OCI stamp. But oh well. It has been received by the BLS and is on its way to New Delhi. Will try to keep everyone updated on the status.

I don't think it matters if you write it in or type, but I was able to type it in. My office has a UPS/FedEx shipping station where one can weigh stuff and pay the company. I weighed it first, got the tracking number, went to my desk, filled out the order form online, printed it, enclosed with the application and put it in the outgoing mail area.

    I have two questions.

    1. I am just worried to send the original OCI card of my kids as We are traveling to India in about 2 months or so. What if they delay processing my kids applications.
    2. Last time (when I first applied for OCI in Aug 2006) I used services of a company called "Passport Services Inc" in houston to hand deliver my USA passport, get it stamped with OCI sticker and mail it to my home. This time, I thought of going to Atlanta office myself and get the OCI sticker onto the new passport (upon approval). This way there is no need to enclose a return shipping label/envelope. Do they allow walkins for submitting and collecting original passports.

Any help or opinion is appreciated.

    Thank you in advance.

Looking at the web site, they do allow walk-in's, but I don't know if that speeds up the processing. They do ask for OCI cards with the application, so if you don't send them, they may reject the application. If you walk in, maybe you can negotiate and try not turning them in first. If they insist, you can give them. Either way, 2 months is a little dicey.

Thank you very much! Appreciate the help. I found it odd they request return shipping label now. I thought they needed it when you send the original passport to them. Not now.

I am currently in the process of doing my mom's OCI Re-Issue because she has a new passport. She needs to transfer the OCI Stamp.
Also, my brother and I are also applying for an OCI New Card (Adult) because our parents are both of Indian Origin.

    1. Can I send all 3 applications at once with separate Cover Letters, Order Forms, and Shipping Labels in the SAME envelope?
    2. On the BLS Order form Website, it says "Airway Bill No." It was mentioned that you can go to the FedEx office , have it priced out, and receive a tracking number. Were you able to get the tracking number, then print the order form, and THEN mail it? Is that the process that was used to get this information?
    3. When you send a prepaid envelope/label, the tracking number on that one should be where the Prepaid Delivery Section is, right??

I want to be sure this is all correct to avoid delays or problems.
    1. I am not confident, but you should be able to because all three of you are from the same family. You can see it as your mom is applying along with both of your OCIs. If you were applying along with your two kids', you certainly can put all the applications in the same envelope. I don't see why the same logic won't apply.

    2. Yes

    3. Correct

Sorry to hear that KC. That does not look good. I have applied to NY but just a couple days back. BLS site says they just received and need to be processed and it might take 48 hours to change status.
While filling I tried calling them many times, but I was successful only once..it was around 5:30pm in the evening. Try calling at that time.

After I chose their Fedex Delivery option, I filled in REFERNCE number in AWB for prepaid return in BLS order form . So I have two slipping labels generated, one for each kid. I stuck both on the USPS package and postal lady was all confused :-) Anyway sent in my package today. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Did you receive your new passports and OCI back?
