No . My passports are declared lost and now they are assisting me in getting new passports.

Piece of Advise : if your application tracking is not updated in 3 Business days after you sent them, Call their customer care and get a case created. After 7 business days of sending your application, if still there is no update, get MEA and Consulate General of India involved.

How passports can be lost?. Is some one taking them and going home? ... All docs are in 1-2 envelopes and should be together whole time.. How it can be lost?. Is consulate doing something about this?

CKGS Lost my Passport and Original Documents

My documents were mailed finally , now I decided never to renew oci as long as all original req is taken out, it has been nightmare for 2 months . They do not have capability of handling photocopies forget about originals.

I don't understand why they have outsourced all consular services when the providers are so incompetent that they are unable to properly secure original documents and something as valuable as a passport.

A few years ago, it was BLS that infamously had passports stolen from their office as per this report http://www.americanbazaaronline.com/...san-francisco/

Applying for any Indian visa or other consular services is like being subjected to harassment.

BLS lost our passport too

I don't understand why they have outsourced all consular services when the providers are so incompetent that they are unable to properly secure original documents and something as valuable as a passport.

Applying for any Indian visa or other consular services is like being subjected to harassment.

We lost one of our passport in the above link referred SFO passports theft in SFO.
No one responds and acts for any of your claims either from BLS/Indian consulate or Indian Ministry of Home... just useless.
Only way to get behind them is to file a lawsuit(at least a small claims court case).

After few years, we are out of any of our issues due to the passport loss. But never know who is abusing the identity of the lost passport.

CKGS Sent Me Somebody Else's Passports/PIO

CKGS - Washington DC has mishandled my passports and PIO card. When we opened the envelope today, we saw that CKGS has sent me the passports and PIO card of a different family. When we called the customer service, the person who handled the call remained unapologetic all through the call and was only trying to defer the issue over to their Washington D.C. office that has actually done the mishandling of the original documents. In addition, they do not have any idea on the current status/possession of my original documents (Passports & PIO).

I'm currently waiting to hear back from CKGS Washington office. Will let you know if and when I hear back from those morons.

CKGS has proven to be Incompetent, unprofessional, insensitive and dumb so far. I'll add more adjectives as time passes.

Any idea what consulate will do with parents original passports?. Are they comparing this with a copy available with them?. If so, why cant use copies of passport instead of asking for originals?. What exactly they do with original passports and copies of passports?

Not sure what CKGS does with the parent's passports. In fact, I read that San Francisco CKGS doesn't need the originals... wonder if this is a CKGS requirement or the Indian Emabassy's. Anyways, today is a holiday for CKGS, so another day followed by a weekend in 'total dark' for me. Gotta call CKGS on Monday to find out where my passports are.

the original passport requirement and notary are directed by the embassy, ckgs only follow the order! now the embassy finally find out is creating another messy for their people, so they remove the original passport now! It is The Indian embassy..... speechless

Latest Update: CKGS found all my passports and PIO card and returned to me yesterday in a one-day FedEx. They also sent me another FedEx AWB# to return the other family's passports to CKGS. I now pray to GOD to have mercy on that family's documents and hope that they be returned safely to them ONLY.
