ECNR check

I am a resident of Bahrain and will be traveling to Delhi, India for a very short trip. I need to get my passport stamped with ECNR clearance. last time it was done for 1 week only as I had to travel urgently. This time i would like it to be permanent so I can avoid doing it again and again.

How long does it take after submission of passport with all documents?
