Extension of Indian visa

Sir/Madam:

My Infant daughter (US Citizen) is visiting India with my wife (Green card holder) currently. She had visa for India that is valid until 2'nd April 2008 (1 year Visa issued in 2007). However, due to some emergency she would have to extend her stay in India along with her mother & hence wanted to know whether she needs to extend her visa if she stays for a couple of weeks beyond her visa validity date (Planning to return on 23'rd April 2008)

Also, she had visited India on Dec 1'st 2007.

Please advice.
