@Donald_Trump: I agree VFS made a mess. They had the "Additional Particulars Form" link during the very first week when they started it out. Now it is vanished. Very poor job from their end. I somehow included it blindly. If i had following the checklist, then i would have also skipped the same. It is absolutely their problem.

kiranboda By the way, if VFS insists that we have to send the Additional Particulars Form, then ask them to provide shipping label for us to send that as it was not our fault and since it was not mentioned on the checklist, nor it was in the instructions.

kiranboda Yes, CKGS had this (additional particulars form) in the workflow and that form would be auto-generated after you had filled all the online forms. Seems like VFS has no idea of the workflow or requirements of Indian Consulate and just put up the application system in a hurriedly and hap-hazard way. I know the CKGS process since I had done the renunciation process for a family member earlier. It had taken just about 8 days end to end shipping for renunciation via CKGS.

Now, even I haven't included Additional Particulars Form as it was not mentioned in the checklist on VFS site that I have printed and included in the application packet.

This is pathetic. An outsourcing company is involved to make sure that the process is complete and all requirements are met. Otherwise what is the user of having a middleman. So it is VFS' responsibility to make sure all instructions are clear. They are getting $20 as fees from each applicant and per application process (They would be charging $40 for example when you do renunciation and then apply for OCI thereby paying fees twice).

Upon searching the web, it looks like CKGS used to have a template for this form and so did VFS in Netherlands. How in the world are we expected to fill out and send a form out of thin air? Are we supposed to create it ourselves? Finally, after some back and forth, VFS emailed me saying that my application will be sent to the embassy and the decision will be left to them whether it is needed or not. I feel like a giant guinea pig in a diverse cultural experiment like a reality show being run on me.

Did anyone else get this "additional particulars form" asked for with your renunciation application? Is it on the checklist?

    1. Government form is not signed by both parent's and notarized. Kindly, refill the application and amke sure it has both parent's signatures and notary.
    2. OCI Application Form
i believe both are same...point 1 says it needs to be signed by both parents and notarized...point 2 means they need the updated form....this is what the checklist says -

    Quote
    GOVERNMENT APPLICATION ONLINE FORM ORIGNAL
OCI Application Form. In case of Minor both parent's signatures and notary is required on the last page of the
    OCI form.
Also minors below 5 year a thumb impression is required. Minors above the age of 5 year the applicant has to
    sign the form. https://passport.gov.in/oci/welcome

Hello, I just started my frustrating journey of Renunciation. I downloaded this "Declaration of Renunciation OF Citizenship..." PDF. This form looks like it is designed by some mental patient in the Gotham asylym.

Who all are supposed to sign. I thought only the applicant is needed to sign, but there are three total signatures.

My renunciation application was delivered to VFS New York center on 11/24 by FedEx. Till date i haven't received any acknowledgment mail or status update in their tracking site (still says invalid input).
Its been more than 10 days now since my application was delivered. Is there anyone else who is facing the same kind of delays in status update from New York center.

I tried to track the application by providing both GOVT reference and VFS Reference but both did not accept. It says invalid input..

Does it take a week to receive the acknowledgement mail and get it updated in the system ?

    Thanks,
