Passport renewal along with addition of spouse name

Passport renewal along with addition of spouse name.

I have my original passport and marriage certificate. I do not have my wife passport as she is in india. I need to renew my passport by adding my spouse name in the new passport.
I am having my original marriage certificate(written in my native language Not English).
Is there any other alternative document that I can submit on behalf of my spouse passport.
At present I am living in california and I going to send the documents to SFO indian embassy.
Can you please advise and do the needful. Thanks

You don't really need to get your wife's name added in your passport.
