Last week, after I took the oath ceremony for naturalization in the federal building LLoyd D. George Federal Courthouse, Las Vegas, naturally I followed the rest went down to the 1st floor waiting hall, where the passport agency ladies and gentlemen are warm heartedly waiting, applied for the passport book and card. I selected both passport book and passport card on the form DS11, and when it was my turn, I asked the lady behind the table how much for both the passport book and card with expedited services, she said $240. Since they don't take credit card but only cash or money order or personal check, and I only had credit and debit cards in my pocket besides $400 cash, I gave her $300 cash, and she returned me $60 cash with 3 $20, together with a receipt of $190.66.
I was a little confused when I took a glimpse onto that receipt because I paid $240. However, I didn't question her why the receipt is not $240 but 190.66 instead because I totally trusted those persons who represent the Department of State.
Today when I called the passport center to ask the passport application process time, ocasionally I was told by them, I only applied for the passport book with the expedited service because I paid only $190.66!!!
And I can't complain for that because I paid them in cash which means there's no proof that I paid $240!!!!!
So, guys, when you accomplished the oath ceremony, and step towards to the passport agency in the hall, keep an eye on how much you paid shall equal the number on the receipt, I strongly suggest write a personal check to them because you can track and prove it!!!!
What the ridiculous ripoffs happened onto me, would possibly hurt you guys again!
Remember, your journey hasn't yet been really accomplished till you checked and confirmed the number on the receipt is correct!!!!
$240 became into $190.66?! that's a **** money rip off!!!!
P.S. the passport agency guys come from USPS office code 890250.
