poisontee you are doing a great job updating your timeline, a good tracker. I have one suggestion for you and one question.

Suggestion: Put this information in your signature, that way you will not have to update several different messages by editing them, each time you just edit the signature and it will update everywhere.

Question: How many days before/after completing your 5 years did you apply.

(I went through the entire documents in N-400 ins document or Guide & didn't get answer for these ).

    1) Do we need to fill out the entire N-400 form using capitol letters? (because application form says so...) ?

    2) part 5-E Race:- I'm from India, what should I mention...Asian?

    3) Part 6-A previous home addresses:- Is it ok if I enter just the month & year for the from & To dates?...or do I need to enter the date as well?

    4) Part 10-D 16 citation:- I have one speeding ticket issued almost 6 yrs back. Do I need to enter that?, if so, what should I enter the ticket as for the details?...(why were you cited?, Outcome of the citation?)

    5) same Part 10-D 16 citation:- I had a accident at fault which happened more than 6yrs ago in California. But NO TICKET was given since there was no injury or death (it was just damage to my car & other car). Do I need to mention this also in the N-400 form?

    6) Part 10-G 33 Selective service registration:- What should I answer for this question (lived in US between 18th & 26th age)?...I was on H1B working visa & then got GC when I was 25yrs old....So what should be my answer?

    7) As per Alien number (GC number), Do I enter it as 012-345-678 (i,e, with - after every 3digits) or 012345678 (i,e, without - in between 3 digits) ?

    Thanks a lot in Advance:-)

Can somebody please help me with these questions regarding N-400 form:-
(I went through the entire documents in N-400 ins document or Guide & didn't get answer for these ).

    1) Do we need to fill out the entire N-400 form using capitol letters? (because application form says so...) ? YES!

    2) part 5-E Race:- I'm from India, what should I mention...Asian? American India or Alaskan Native would be my best guess

    3) Part 6-A previous home addresses:- Is it ok if I enter just the month & year for the from & To dates?...or do I need to enter the date as well? Enter the dates as well. ( mm/dd/yyyy)

    4) Part 10-D 16 citation:- I have one speeding ticket issued almost 6 yrs back. Do I need to enter that? Yes

, if so, what should I enter the ticket as for the details?...(why were you cited?, Outcome of the citation?) Speeding for your case.

    5) same Part 10-D 16 citation:- I had a accident at fault which happened more than 6yrs ago in California. But NO TICKET was given since there was no injury or death (it was just damage to my car & other car). Do I need to mention this also in the N-400 form? Were you given a citation for it?

    6) Part 10-G 33 Selective service registration:- What should I answer for this question (lived in US between 18th & 26th age)?...I was on H1B working visa & then got GC when I was 25yrs old....So what should be my answer? Yes. You were required to register if you were a male btw 18 to 26. If you are a male who is or was previously required to register with selective service, then you must bring a "Status Information Letter" with you to the interview, which you can easily obtain thru Selective Service. No need to explain to Selective Service why you failed to register if you did not register with them either now or previously. Because they don’t care why someone wasn't able to register; rather they could only give you a latter explaining whether you were required to register or not. That is.

Your application for naturalization will be denied if you are a male and were in the United States between the ages of 18-26 and failed to register for selective service willfully and intentionally. But if you can convince INS officer that your failure was not willful then officer will be able to approve your application. So, it is better to bring an explanation letter (a notarized affidavit) with you at the interview, wherein you should explain very clearly that-[1] your failure was not willful; and [2] you were not aware of this obligation of registering with Selective Service; and [3] you did not receive any notification on this either from USCIS or Selective service.

You should know that if you were in the United States between the ages of 18-26 under any status, even as an illegal, then you were required to register for selective service. The only exception to it- those men who were here on valid nonimmigrant visa. Men's age does play a very important role during the time of naturalization. Because if a male did not register with Selective Service when he was required to register, no matter for whatever reason, then officer may deny his application unless he reaches 31 of age. Once a male reaches to the age of 31, then 97% of times this issue becomes irrelevant. And after the age of 37, it is 100% irrelevant because then this Selective Service issue becomes completely mute and a non-issue even though a person had failed to register deliberately. You may call them at this number- 1-888-655-1825.

    7) As per Alien number (GC number), Do I enter it as 012-345-678 (i,e, with - after every 3digits) or 012345678 (i,e, without - in between 3 digits) ? No Dashes, 012345678

    Nags I hope that helps!

My situation won't change after getting the citizenship, but my wife's GC will be good, I am selfish and anxious in that way :-)
I finished my FP today, when I walked in at the San Jose ASC today, there was one person, I thought I was in line after that person, but he turned out to be the staff who was sitting because there were no one else who needed fingerprinting :-p. So it was out in less than five minutes.
    Dear Helpwithh1

I know how difficult it is.
Take my story for example. Since our marriage I am trying to get US visa (I tried H1B twice and Visit 3 times ) but all were in vein.
We are so desperate to get the citizenship. But we have to wait another 6 to 8 months for that becoz my wife will be eligible only by October.
For you at least your wife is in USA!
Since I joined immihelp I found I am not the only person suffering thousands are there like me
    So dont worry be happy

I am not sure if anyone else had any luck with walk-in FP in the recent past.
I have read some places normally accept walk in's. Sorry Helpwithh1 about your experience. The person you meant there was just not a "nice" guy. Maybe.....

You will have them taken tomorrow anyways!!

I am now studying the 100 questions for my interview in a month. So far, so Good. I have been reading the booklet and recently started listening to a audio version for practice hearing the questions over and over again as the test is a oral test.

My main objective is to just hear a question and the answer comes from my memory without thinking. LoL. After passing my interview, i might need to erase some from my memory. ha ha

Anyone else having fun studying for the test?

    Best regards,

    Soumya19-

Congrats on your interview letter. Dallas office is moving fast!!

About the oath on the same day, i haven't done any research on Dallas office. As for my office which is San Antonio, they don't do same day oath. They have them once or twice a month.

I will let someone from the Dallas office to answer your oath question.
