getting RFE notice after FP notice

    arunbavforspam:

I am facing same issue here; iI received my fp notice and then an email arrived several days later for rfe. The notice date for rfe in email was for before the fp date. I still have not received the rfe in the mail. Strange! Please keep posting and let us know how your FP goes. Hope to see other posts as well on this issue. Is it a computer glitch?

I think the system message is wrongly worded. Can any one verify if this message changes a few days after the FP is done. Our FP is scheduled for the 26th. I'll post my experience and if the message changes after a couple of days of the FP.

First of all thank you so much for all the information shared here. It's very helpful.

Today I recevied a Yellow Letter from USCIS asking me to bring the following documents
    1. Bring your state issued driver's license or state issues photo identification card.
    2. You indicated in your application that you have been arrested. For these arrests and any other incidents in which you may have been invloved, bring originals or certified copies of all arrest records and court disposition showing how each incident was resolved.

Here is the problem. I was never arrested and did not indicate in my application either. All I menioned was three traffic citations for the last 12 years and resolved by paying less that $100 fines in each case. I could just recover one of the tickets and the other two I could not find any recrod even with DMVs. I called all possible county courts here in GA for one ticket and the other one in Pennsylvania I even went to my local DMV office to get my driving records for the last 7 years. But , I remember I had two other tickets.
If there is any way I can retrieve all my tickets from any government agency.

My second question is how do I deal with arrest papers ?
The yellow notice says to bring the documents to my interview. But,it does not say when is my interview or when I can expect my interview letter.

I am really at loss what to do with these documents. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    AtlMan-
Helpwithh1 is right. You will need to take your copy of your application with you for your interview. Your interview letter will state what else you will need to take with you.

You receiving a yellow letter is a good sign someone is working on your case. I believe your interview letter is in the mail.

On the arrest, The notices they send are very generic. They sent you a notice about the arrest because you probably checked yes to the box which asks you if you have been arrested, cited etc. They simply assumed you were arrested. if you have never been arrested, then you don't need to take with you any paperwork on it. However, you might face some delay with your application if you don't get the paperwork for the tickets. Again, since they were simple traffic violations, it shouldn't be a big deal. It all depends on the Officer interviewing you. All you can do is try your best to get the prove you paid your fines and you will be ok for the interview.

Keep us posted as to how this will work out.

    Best regards!

I am pretty sure that you have a copy of the application you mailed. Just bring that to the interview. Tell them that you were not arrested and there must have been some error in processing that application that caused them to send you the yellow letter.
How can you produce a arrest document if you were never arrested. Don't worry.

Just a quick question...Do you complete 5years of permanent residence on this date (i,e, sept 18th) ? or is it bit earlier than 5 years?
Its 5 days before I complete by 5 years, but I am not taking Oath on that day, so I am not worried, or should I be worried(I don't know)

Does everyone have receipt number in the reciept field?

This immigration process is full of mystery and excitement
    Jaykrishna-
The first Noa is for showing they received your app. Hence the tittle receipt. They don't come with receipt number. On your application number ,they include center number and *. So it's a nine digit plus the other 4 to get 13. Example of an application number is

    NBC*123456789

So my guess is you are ok. Just check to make sure they have your correct A# plus your address, date of birth etc

    Best regards
