Where do you find that. I don't recall finding in their website, saying that if you are citizen or not.
    Thx

It doesn't but there is like a little life hack that lets you know whether you are one or not.

after you created a profile and signed in to the SS website (https://www.ssa.gov/onlineservices/)

if you click on "replace your social security card" link. You can only order a replacement card online if you are a US Citizen. When I clicked on it before it updated it would tell me something like that I would have to go to the local SS office to get one but now when I click it I can order a new one online.

      Hopefully that makes sense!

It’s making me so excited to read all the good news here!

To those who were interviewed for the citizenship - what kind of questions were asked?

For the actual interview to be honest I dont think my Agent really asked any questions compared to green card. She was mainly reviewing the paperwork and confirming what I had written. The only direct question I had was if i had travelled since submitting the application. Then I had the usual yes/no questions at the end of the application and the test questions. My test questions were

Name the U.S. war between the North and the South? - the Civil War
Before he was President, Eisenhower was a general. What war was he in? - World War II
Why does the flag have 50 stars? - because there is one star for each state
How many U.S. Senators are there? - one hundred (100)
Who is in charge of the executive branch? - the President
Who makes federal laws? - Congress

I cant remember exactly what I had to write down and say out loud but it went something like this.

          Say: Who elects Congress?
          Wrote: The People elect Congress.

I guess as they have already grilled you with the GC, the citizenship interview definitely seemed more just going over paperwork and rubber stamping it so don't get stressed out about it!

Thank you! This is so helpful!

Are we allowed to travel/leave USA after we submitted our application for N400/while waiting for interview? And are we allowed to travel/leave USA after the interview/while waiting for passport?

You can definitely travel internationally after submitting the application. I went back to the UK during the xmas period before my interview. If you know you are travelling after the interview before the oath ceremony then I would let the officer know that you are planning to travel so they don't schedule the oath ceremony during that period. However I have seen other state field offices to do interview/oath same day so that might be a risk if you are planning on travelling around after your interview. Unfortunately as soon as you become a US citizen you will be unable to travel internationally until you have a US Passport. You are required to leave on and return back to the US on a US passport. My passport took like 5-6 weeks but I didn't pay extra to rush it or anything. For those that did I have seen some people get there's within 3-4 weeks and there is also the option of a rush passport job where you have to schedule an appointment at one of their field office within 3 days of international travel and they will make you one that day. However way more expensive and stressful and you have no say on what field office you have to go to. My sister in law had to do this and she had to buy flights to a state that was not neighboring us so she ended up paying an extra 600 bucks for flights and hotel just to get the passport. Travelling within the US while waiting for passport is absolutely fine no matter when!

Its very easy, dont worry. Questions were simple and straightforward, the whole thing didn't take more than 15-20 mins, most of them, she was typing on her computer.
                Good luck.

I saw that, I'm still not citizen. Would rather to wait till they open.

Thx. What's the benefits of changing it, I mean its good to change it, but I don't know if there is any benefit of doing so.

Honestly I don't actually know. If you already updated when you got your GC then the restrictions have already been taken away. There are certain jobs, particularly in the government where you need to be a US Citizen so i guess it might affect the application if SS doesn't have you as a citizen when they enter your SS number to verify and therefore it would be a quick way for them to throw away/weed out applications. Honestly. the reason why I did it was just because it was on the check list of things to do that they gave you when you became a citizen.

                              • Just wondering, do I have to makes copies again of the pieces of evidence/ for the interview? Just like what we did for the conditional gc interview? Or will the officer have the evidence copies we submitted along the N400 application in hand?
