Process and documents for H4 Visa

Hi Guys

May I know the process/timeline of filling H4 Visa for my spouse?

1. Who needs to file H4 visa, Employer of a Primary applicant(H1B) or Primary applicant?
2. What all documents required?
3. How much time it takes to get approval?
4. Does H4 applicant needs to go for stamping also? Alone or with Primary applicant?

1. Maintaining status is one's own responsibility, the employer may assist in providing the necessary legal support/guidance.

3. 2-4 Months.
4. Where is your spouse currently? If in US on what status and visa? If you want the visa in the passport with the freedom to go out and back in to US, yes would need to go for stamping. The applicant need not go with the H1 holder they can go on their own along with the above mentioned documents.
