  • H4 re-Stamping or extension when changing employer.

    Hi All,
I am looking for some guidance on H4 Stamping.

My Family have H4 stamped till 14th Sept 2015 and have not traveled to US.
Recently I have changed the employer and I want them to stamp in India itself before coming to US.
I already got soft copy of my approved I797 A.

What are the document required for this?
Will this be treated as extension or new Visa?
Can they apply for drop box facility?

    Please help me with above.

    Regards,
    Amit

    >>> https://www.immihelp.com/h4-visa-stamping-documents/

Will this be treated as extension or new Visa?
    >>> There is no extension in case of visa. Every visa is a new Visa. The old one will be cancelled.

Can they apply for drop box facility?
    >>> If they qualify, then yes.

Thank you very much for the reply.
regarding drop box I went through link provided it talks about work visa (H and L) but nothing specific about dependent visa H4.
Can you please elaborate or point to other link.

      Thanks!!

      Regards,
      Amit

Eligibility Criteria for all H4 applicants except child below 14 years and applicant above 80 years of age:

        1) I received my visa after November 1, 2008.
        2) I currently hold/previously held, a H-4 visa which I wish to renew.
        3) My visa is currently valid or recently expired within the last 12 months.
        4) My previous visa was issued in India.
        5) My most recent visa (in the same visa class for which I am applying) was issued on or after my 14th birthday.
        6) I have no refusals for a visa in any category after my most recent visa issuance.
        7) My prior visa is not annotated “Clearance Received”.
        8) My most recent visa (in the same visa class for which I am applying) was not lost or stolen.
