Apply for Jobs on H4

Hi,
Can you please let me know if it is legal to apply for jobs and attend interviews when on h4. I understand that i will need a h1 to start working but is it okay for applying to jobs or will it be termed as illegal.

You can apply for jobs and give interviews. You cannot work and get paid while you are in H4 status. To work, you need to be in H1B status.
