Help! Application for Change in Status denied (F1 to H4)

I was on F1 VISA...worked for 6months on OPT, then applied for Change in Status to H4. After that I travelled to India. I got a letter saying that since I travelled, my application is denied.

I was not aware of this rule. Anyone has similar experience? How do I get back home to USA now?
Any suggestion or experiences are welcome. Thanks.

Fill DS-160 using your spouse's H1 petition details, take visa interview appointment, carry the H4 related documents https://www.immihelp.com/h4-visa-stamping-documents/ to the interview, as and when you get H4 stamped, use that to travel to US.
