Did dropbox in Feb13th in Chennai.
Asked for DS160 confirmation and Dropbox confirmation letter along with current I797 A copy. They did also ask for old copy of I797As. I said I only have original and not a copy of those documents. They said it's fine and did not take any document from me.

Passport ready for pickup on Feb16th.

is it for H1 OR H4 OR BOTH ?

I am also planning to visit India and go for drop box stamping in Delhi on March 10th.

Initially I was planning to cancel my trip but this thread was really useful in making my decision to go ahead with the trip.

Dropbox update in Mumbai

i submitted my passport on 13th Feb in Mumbai and got it back on 17th Feb afternoon. The only issue i faced - They rejected the photo i got clicked at CVS !!!

Can you please update when you get the visa , I am also in the same boat , I have a drop box letter and my wife and daughter have a visa interview on 20th , with all these confusion going on , we are thinking should we go to India or not , need to attend a family wedding.

White Slip in Dropbox : Delhi

Hello all

Just updating everyone on today's status. Just dropped off all my docs at the Delhi Dropbox location. Barely took 10 minutes in the whole process. No questions asked! Only problem is that if you get a photo clicked in USA at CVS or Walgreens etc, it ll most likely not be accepted here but every location has a small market around and u can instantly get photos !

Can't say how many days it ll take to get back the passport but the process went without headache! Thanks to all who regularly updated this thread and provided helpful information and morale boosting experiences

I am continuing my thread from 10 days ago. I was very happy that Dropbox went without glitches as they accepted all my documents and the whole process barely took 10 minutes!
But the story wasn't done, as yet.
After wasting 10 crucial days of my trip, I got my passport back today with a white slip which is very ambiguous.
It says: I need fingerprints , interview and a new petition ! I have no idea what the last one means. It asks me to NOT book any appointment and go to the consulate any day before 10 AM. There are no instructions or details of what they want me to carry except the passport and that white slip.

If anyone has any insights on this, please let me know. I am perplexed and scared as I have been working in this company on this H1B for 2 years and have traveled twice before on my previous stamping (by old employer) which still was valid for another month.

Looking forward to your help.

That is really scary news. I will suggest take your all document. 797, i129, LCA, client letter/Offer letter, Pay stubs/W2.
I heard every Dropbox person was calling for in-Person but if you have proper document, There will be know issue. Please update the thread on any progress.

I think your problem may be because, your current visa if from a different employer, not sure how you were qualified for drop-box. I believe one of the requirement for drop-box is your current visa should be from same employer. So once you go for interview I think everything will be just fine.

'change of petitioner' rule is removed for dropbox eligibility in 2015. So even if you change your employer, you will be still available for drop box if you meet other eligibility criteria.
