extend H1B after 6th year

My H1B will be expire on February 10, 2009. I am in the process of applying labor certification. Can I extend my H1B after I get my I-140 approved? Or should I transfer to H4?

You can extend your H1 only if your I140 gets approved before Feb 2009. If not, you have to switch to H4 or return back to home country.
