  • Info on EAD for L2 Visa

    Hi Guys,

I wanted information on how to apply for an EAD. I have an L2 dependant visa. My husband is in US on a L1. i am here from 3 mnths nw. I wanted to know the procedure for applying an EAD for me. I also had certain queries on the foll :

    a) I currently do not have a SSN number. Is the SSN mandatory while applying for an EAD?

    b) What is the normal period for obtaining an EAD? incase an SSN is mandatory then does that mean i can apply for an EAD only after getting my SSN (which normally is 30 days) ?

    c) I am aware that while applying for SSN, we get a reference number. Can we apply for an EAD with that reference number?

Looking forward to hear from you guys.

    Thanks a Lot

SSN and EAD are separate for L2 applicants and can be obtained with no relation to each other.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
