H1 b visa renew/extension - Never traveled on visa

I had a H1b visa which was stamped in April'2008 from my previous employer in India; but I couldn't travel at that time as my employer couldn't find a project for me in USA.
After that also I never traveled on this visa and the visa expired in July 2010.
Now I am in with a different employer in India.
Just wanted to ask whether this visa can be renewed or extended ?
Is there a way by which this visa can be transferred to my new employer and is extended.

There is no such thing as visa renewal. Your current or any new employer can file a new H1B petition using the CAP from the previous H1B approval notice and request an immediate start date (Since you are already CAP counted, you don't need to go through the CAP again). Upon approval of the H1B petition, you can attend the visa interview again. If the visa gets approved, then you can travel to U.S and start working the employer who sponsored your H1B.
