Job is gone but still have H1b permit

Dear All,

How are you doing? I am on H1b Visa and my job contract will be done by June 2012, but on my VISA I was sponsered VISA till June 2013. So Can I stay llegally in USA after June 2012 till June 2013. In the mean time I will find a new job. Let me know what you guys think and would like to recommend me. Thanks, Raghavesh

Just because you have a valid H1B visa, you cannot stay in the country without a job. When you are in H1B status, you need to be working and getting paid. Otherwise you will go out of status on H1B and it will cause a lot of issues with your future petitions, visa stamping and GC process.
