L1 Visa to Green Card

Hello,

I am new to the Forum and looking for some guidance/information.

My company has offered to locate me (and my family) to the US under an L1 Visa. I like the idea and am deeply thinking about it - especially in light of getting a Green Card.

Here's the questions that's bothering me:

1. How long does it take to go from L1 to GC?
2. Can I come first on L1, start the GC process and then my family can join?
3. What is the typical cost that I would have to bare for the GC process?

1. It depends on if you are an Executive or Manager in the company now and will you be in an Managerial or Executive position when you come here? If yes, then they can immediately start the green card process. However, the question is will they… many companies make employees wait before they will start the GC.

3. There are legal fees and filing fees. Usually, you have to bear the fees for your family’s application. It depends on the arrangement you have with your employer.
