I am on L1b - which expired last year (visa was valid for 3 years). I was given an extension on my I94 as I entered US after 1 year of visa approval. My question:

1 -- how can I extend my stay in US? My I94 will expire in June 2014
2 -- Can i get my I94 extend again - as L1B is valid for a duration of 5 years.
3 -- When i filed for my extension on I94 - the expiry on my passport was june 2014 - i have a new passport issued by Indian embassy valid for next 10 years.
4 -- If my employer files for my H1B in april 2014 - and my I94 expiring in June - can I get my stay extended based on my pending H1 case? or will I have to leave US in june 2014.

    Thanks,
    Sana
Advisable to please start a new thread instead of posting on an existing thread. Also, there are numerous threads discussing similar situation as yours, please spend some time and read through them.

    1. You can extend your stay by filing I539 along with new I129.
    2. Yes possible.
    3. You have to give new passport details.
    4. No you cannot. In order for you to stay beyond June 2014 till H1 Start date in Oct 2014 you will have to file L1 extension too.

This is my opinion not legal advice.
