  • L1B Visa extension

    Hi,

I have L1-B visa from May-2016 till May-2019. During this time period i have stayed around 6 months in US with 3 trips.

Is there any possibility can i relocate to USA for 1 or 2 year in Feb-2019 with the same VISA? or should i go for a new VISA once my VISA expires? Also what is the best way to get the visa? Renewal or fresh visa?

    The website says: https://www.immihelp.com/l1-visa-period-of-admission/

we can stay upto 5 years on the visa.

Anybody has experience on this please provide your valuable comments.

you can extend your visa, if you stay in USA at the time of expiry. Usually on L1B visa we can stay for around five years(3+2). Renewal means almost like a new visa(when you are outside of USA). As you know chances of getting new L1B is very less. It's better to go for extension.

    Just my opinion.

Visa is merely for entry purpose. If you have not changed your employer you can still enter into use before the expiry.

Once you are inside USA, your petition gives you eligibility to work - even with expired visa.

you can easily renew your visa using dropbox facility while in your home country - you just need to prove that you are still with the same company who initially sponsored you this visa.
