  • I-94 expired, L1B valid till 31st March, extention filed via premium processing

My I-94 expired on 14th Jan 2011 as my passport was going to expire on that day too. I had my passport renewed few months back, an totally forgot about my I-94, Realised it 10 days late and immediately informed my company. Their lawyers filed for my extension in premium process, but till then 25 days had passed after my I-94 expiry, though I still have a valid L1B visa.

What are the chances that my extension will be approved/denied? What would be the implications if its denied?

Unfortunately it is highly likely to be denied unless properly filed as nunc pro tunc (backdated) extension (then too less likely). If denied, you will need to leave the country and return.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

      Approved.

With God's grace, a miracle happened and it got approved for another 18 months.

Congratulations. Does the approval notice have an I-94 at the bottom?
