H4 to F1

Hi,

I am planning on converting my H4 visa to an F1. Could someone please answer my queries?

1. Currently, how long does it take to receive an F1, especially since I am already in the US?

2. If, for some reason the F1 is rejected, does the H4 status remain or do I have to file again for an H4?

Yes, Your H4 status is valid. As long as your spouse H-1B is valid you no need to file again for H4.
