Query on visa fees by NEFT

I have one query on visa fees. I am planning to pay fees by NEFT. How should I do that.?
Do I have to go to banks website and pay the fees with unique number provided on the US Visa docs website . How I will get the visa fee reciept.

Is it not safe to make payments with NEFT ?
