Visit visa - help on documents

Hi,

I got the list of documents from immihelp.com for both visitor and sponsor.

I need some clarification on following points;

1) When do we have to submit documents to vfs?
2) Do we need to send documents to vfs immidately after setting up appt - in case we set up online?
3) What kind of info needed to set up vfs appointment?

Any help will be useful.
