Hello everyone!
I'm a spanish art student with a B2 visa with 10 year validity that needs some help!
I'm planning my journey now, since I'll be going this December.
When I'm there I want to study in a school (less than 8 weekly hours and no titulation), visit a friend in a diferent state and do lots of tourism.
I want to stay for one whole year (if I was lucky enough to get that much time).
But I'm having trouble planning my journey because the information the USA embassy in Spain is giving me and what the USCIS webpage says, are conflicting regarding to the B2 visa stay and extension.
The embassy from the USA in Spain says that I'll get at the port of entry a [Maximum] 6 months that I might be able to extend through the USCIS later.
But then, when I visit the USCIS webpage it says that B2 visas get [Minimum] 6 months on entry up to a year, and that then I can ask for 6 month increment extensions... so... which one is it? (this is the link, Look in (1) and (2) sections ->
They also told me to contact the CBP, and the CBP sent me here!
Also it would help me greatly if you could tell me if its possible to stay two weeks over a year (asking for an extension, of course). I'm asking this because there is a course in a school (they don't give titulation and its less than 10 weekly hours) that would be crucial for my art career. The problem is that it finishes two weeks after than my 1 year date entry on the USA.
Thanks a lot for your time and help!
Have a good day
PS.My parents will pay for all my expenses while I'm there so I don't have to work and I can focus on improving my art skills.
PS2. Sorry for my bad english, I'm still studying it!
