  • Inviting my boyfriend to visit the USA on a tourist visa

My boyfriend is a Russian citizen lives in China on an M-visa (business visa), and previously studied in a Chinese college. He is gapping a year from college to do business in China.

I am an F-1 visa holder (student visa) here in the United States.

I wish to invite him over for a summer vacation, but we have been told by many people he's chance to get a visa is slim. What should we do to increase his chance to get the B2 visa?

He is currently self-employed, has real estate back in Russia, but no much of money on his bank account. I am going to cover all his travel expense here (as sponsor on document).

We are going to tell the truth, but how to make to truth sounds more favorable?

Should we hide our relationship? I am a sponsor, better off a friend or the truth - girlfriend? (I have heard that having a girlfriend in the US actually will damge his chance of getting a visa)

Really wish to see him but I can't go to China due to my study.

Regarding the relationship, you should just tell the truth. You being on F-1, it would not matter at all.

      He applies, and finds out.

If asked at the interview, he may verbally mention you are covering his expenses.

Truth has no shades. Provide facts as they are and let the CO adjudicate based on facts.

Should we hide our relationship? I am a sponsor, better off a friend or the truth - girlfriend? (I have heard that having a girlfriend in the US actually will damge his chance of getting a visa).
Having a US-based kin could be a hurdle, but can't do anything about it. Do not lie, or hide facts.
