  • B2 visa for Parent

    Good Morning,

My question is regarding on getting my mother in law a B2 visa she is 47 years old, Is a mexico citizen, she has been in mexico for 14-15 years continuously previous to that she had came to the US to have my husband in 1993, left right after (illegaly entered) same with my brother in law in 2000 left right after. My husband and I are planning on getting married and would want her to be present so someone informed that she may qualify for a B2 visa.

She does have ties to mexico, she cannot be with out constant treatment since she has Advance Rheumatoid Arthritis,
and Financially my husband and I would be sponsoring her brief stay during the wedding.
So my question would be would she be considered for it or due to her illegal entrys and stays previously would she not qualify for it

The rule is, If someone have stayed in the US for 1 year or more illegally, he/she can not return to the US for the next 10 years. She is qualify to apply for US visitor visa.

Her current medical condition and prior illegal entry might harm her case but she has been out of US for last 14-15 years. So i would suggest to try for the visitor visa and leave on luck.
