  • Visitor visa rejected for my mother

My mother's visitor was rejected with the form 214-b last week, she is widow and went for interview alone. We mentioned her occupation as agriculture in DS-160, even if she is doing agriculture and running business. We did not mention business as we were not sure what to mention in the DS-160 under occupation, as it has only one occupation to be selected.

We are assuming that this could be the reason VO was not convinced of her returning to India after visiting USA for 3 months.
I am planning to send her for visa interview again after 15 days, this time we are going to mention the occuspation in DS-160 as business. and in duties we would mention the business related duties and agriculture both. In this case what is the probability of gettig visitor visa stamped? Could you also let me know what are the supporting documents required to carry for the interview for the occupation as business.

I am listing down the questions asked to my mother below during the interview:

    1. What is your name?
    Answered.

    2. Do you have a job?
    Ans: I dont have job.

    3. What do you do?
Ans: I am farmer. I have plantation about 7 acres.

    4. Where do you live?
    Answered.

    5. With whom do you live?
    Ans: Alone

    6. What does you husband do?
Ans: He passed away before 3 years.

    7. What does your son-in-law do?
    Answered.

    8. Where does he work?
    Answered.

    9. Why are you going to USA?
Ans. To meet my daughter and Son-In-Law

    10. Where do your Daughter and Son-in-Law live?
    Answered with address.

    11. How many kids you have.
Ans: 2 daughters, one is in India and one is in USA.

I am not sure answer to which questions made the visa to be rejected.

    Thanks in advance.

Sorry to say, but widow have 50% less chances of approval.

Also, considering an "Indian mother" with both daughters (no son), makes is highly dependent & risky to stay in US.
