Hi,
I just registered in this forum and I am seeing lot of helpful information related to Visitors (B2) visa. Thanks for all of the members who are sharing their personal experience/thoughts and directing the members who are looking for help.
My mother has her visa appointment in next month at Chennai and I am currently preparing the sponsor documents from my end and I am planning to mail those to my mother in a week. I also require to direct my mother to prepare visitor documents from her end (I need to prepare the format, etc... since she doesn't know how to read and write telugu/English).
Could some one please provide me the Invitation Letter format which I would require to prepare from my end? Also, do I need to address this letter to my mother or to the consulate?
Below is the list of sponsor and visitor documents which I am preparing and also I am planning to keep these documents in three separate folders for my mother convenient when she appear for the visa interview at consulate.
Folder 1: (Required docs to show at the security gate to get into the consulate and also to give to the VO officer at the interview window)
1. HDFC fee receipt
2. Confirmation of US Visa Interview letter (2 letters printed if in case require an extra copy)
3. My mother Original Passport
4. Completed and signed DS-156 and DS-157 applications
5. DD for Rs. 2,400/- for the visa issuance fee
Folder 2: (Sponsor documents)
1. copies of my green card (fron and back)
2.Invitation letter
3.I-134
4. My last 3 months original bank statments (checking a/c) + verification letter from bank with the average balance for the past 1year/6monts (requested the bank and I am waiting of that letter to come in mail)
5.My original Birth Certificate
6.copies of all pages in my passport
7.copies of my last 6 months pay stubs
8.Employment verification letter from my company
Folder:3 (Visitors supporting documents if any)
1. Affadavit from my mother (Explaining the reason to visit USA, providing the responsibilities to take care in india once she comes back from USA, etc...)
2. Consolidated property statement from Charted Accountant for the properties which my mother has in India with her name.
Based on the above, I would request some one in this forum to clarify below questions which I have.
1. Did I miss any other documents to prepare or the above list of documents are enough?
2. organizing the above three folder with the respective documents is correct or not?
3. Since my mother doesn't know how to read and find the exact document from the folder, Is it okay if my mother just hand over the appropriate folder to the VO officer when officer ask for a particular document? if not how to handle this?
4. Do I also need to write one more letter to the Chennai consulate requesting to issue a visa to my mother (other than invitation letter)? If yes, could som eone please provide me the format of the letter.
I look forward for your valuable responses/suggestions for the above.
