A birth certificate is not mandatory for a visitor visa but some officers ask for it to establish child-parent relationship. So, your birth certificate with your parents' names on it is what the officer may ask for. IF you do not have it, just send a copy of your school leaving certificate with your dad's name on it.

Further advice; I'd advise you to procure your original birth ceritificate
from the municipality office of the area of your birth in INdia. This is for
future, in case you will sponsor your parents for a green card after becoming US citizens, you will really need it.
