  • 26, single female wants U.S tourist visa

I am 26 and have been working with a pvt bank for the past 6 months. My financial condition looks healthy. I have no family in the U.S. My boyfriend is doing his phd in a U.S university and I want to visit him on a tourist visa. I was getting my documents ready to apply for a visa interviw but almost everybody I have asked (travel companies, friends) tells me that it is almost impossible for a single young female to get a tourist visa to the states. I am very disappointed right now.

Will appreciate any help/outlook on this issue.

    Thanks in advance

You are a very likely case for a rejection. No harm in trying your luck with proof of strong ties to home country. Any rejection would ruin your chances of a visitor/student visa in the future.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

Should I apply or leave it?

I have heard that it hurts the chances if one gets rejected the first time.

      Thanks

            Hi

I'm also in the same dilemma as you. I too am 25/26 and single, however I have visited the states before on a 1 yr multiple B2 visa when I was 20 and lived in Australia too.

Not to give you any false security but I am going forward based on a few friends experiences. They too were like us, 26/27 single female. They got the visa.

So I don't think it's the age or marital status thats an important aspect. But we know it comes down to how the VO at the consulate feels and we have no control over that.

I hope our age & marital status won't stop you. Good luck!

im 24 and i got a visa just last month.. age is a factor, but if you can prove that you have no intention on staying in US longer than you should be,,, then you should be fine.
