Year: Incorrect Birth Certificate

Hi,

I'm planning to bring my mom to US shortly. I have some mismatch in my birth certificate. The year of birth shown in my birth certificate is one year less than the year of my birth mentioned in my transfer certificate, passport, etc. My birth certificate has year as 1974, where as in my transfer certificate and passport, and in all my official records it is 1975. However the date and month are correct. I don't think I can really correct my TC, PP and official records at this point of time. Can someone help me overcome this issue?

If your mother's name is in your passport, that will be sufficient to prove your relationship to her.
But, try and get the birth record corrected asap.

Thanks. I'm not sure how difficult it is going to be to change the year of birth in the birth certificate.

Is it okay to show my original marriage certificate issued by the government? My marriage certificate has both my parents name, as well as my date of birth mentioned is in sync with my passport.

I have gone through the faqs which says secondary documents like notorized copies, transfer certificate are not acceptable. However what about marriage certificate which is issued by the government?

Get two affidavits prepared by your parents or other close relatives regarding the discrepancy.
