  • Visitor Visa for Parents and In-laws at the same time

    Hi,
I am currently on H1 and my wife is on H4. My parents are in Maharashtra and my in-laws are in Karnataka state which means my parents has to go to Mumbai Consulate and my in-laws have to go to Chennai for visitor visa. I will be sponsoring for everyone.

    1. My birth certificate is perfect without any issue, but my wife's birth certificate the year is not correct and there is no way to change that. I want to know what additional document is required so that there is no issue while submitting. The link on the birth certificate on this site does not talk about any solution for mismatch in date of birth in birth certificate.

    2. Since we are in US, I have the original marriage certificate with me, do I need to send original certificate to my parents and in-laws OR a copy of it will do?

    3. My wife's name in our marriage certificate is different than her name on passport (change in surname after marriage). Will that be an issue? if yes, how to resolve this issue?

    4. In DS-160, it ask whether you have invited others, when I am submitting the DS-160 for my parents, should I mention my in-laws names and vice versa?

    5. Since the appointment dates will be different for my parents and my in-laws, does it matter who goes for interview first so that consulate can cross-verify? the reason for asking this question is because consulate check whether sponsor can support parents and in-laws both or only one.

    6. Why Mumbai consulate asks applicants to drop the documents 3 days before the interview date?

    7. My dad is retired govt servant with pension. What document is required to show?

    8. My dad has investment property (plot). What document is required to show?

    9. My mom (Housewife) has investment property (house). What document is required to show?

    10. In my passport my father name is not full (middle name is wrong), but my father's passport has correct name. Do I have to worry about? if yes, how to resolve this?

    1. Submit secondary evidence. https://www.immihelp.com/second-evid...usa-greencard/

    2. Original.

    3. As long as it is only the last name change due to marriage, marriage certificate is enough.

    4. In the form for whoever is going second for interview, write the information about the whoever is going first.

    5. As long as you can show that you have money to sponsor all of them at once, there is no issue.

    6. That is the rule.

    10. Make an affidavit. https://www.immihelp.com/sample-one-...s-immigration/

      Incorrect date in Birth Certificate

I'm in a similar situation as Muda. My wife's DOB in Passport is different than the DOB in the birth certificate. All her educational records have the same DOB as in Passport. I took a look at the link provided below. However, her birth may be recorded and may not get a non-availability certificate. In that case can we just submit one of the secondary evidence? Or do we need an affidavit + one of the secondary evidence? Please let me know.
