I-94 question

Please advise whether or not the original I-94 will be returned and sent back to me with the response/result of my application for extension of stay? As instructed, I submitted the original I-94 when I applied for extension. Also, how long is the processing time for application for request for the return of the original I-94?
I would also need your advise as to the best time to apply for the return of the original document: will it be better to apply while my case is still pending OR after the result of my application for extension of stay has been released?

You should apply to get it returned to you immediately.
