Hi,
I am a US Citizen and have recently entered a marriage with an immigrant that is currently out of status. We are currently going through the green card process with our lawyer and have just sent in all the necessary paperwork to immigration services.
My wife's mother is currently in Russia and would like to come to the US as a temporary vistor to see her daughter. If the mom applies for a visitors visa, can this have a negative impact on our green card process?
My concern is that when the mother applies to come to the US, the consultant will see that her daughter is currently out of status and perhaps this can trigger some further investigation into our marriage, or stall the whole process altogether.
Any feedback would be much appreciated...can this happen? Perhaps I’m just over thinking this...
