We all know that DS-157 is reqd to be filled up only by NIV male applicants between 16-45 years of age (official confirmation: http://travel.state.gov/visa/laws/**...***s_1432.html). Therefore I's surprised when I read on the US embassy's site for New Delhi (http://newdelhi.usembassy.gov/wwwhnivrdp.html) the following text:
Though just to be on the safe side I've prepared the DS-157 forms for my parents (father 62y, mother 59y), does anybody knows what's going on around there at the embassy at Delhi
TIA
The following documents are mandatory for any application being made: A fully completed and signed Visa Application Form DS-156 and Form DS-157, with one recent - within the past six months- 50mm x 50mm forward-facing visa photograph.
I therefore wrote to the NIV enquiries email [email protected], and was more surprised when the reply said "form - ds-156 and ds-157 (everyone nonimmigrant visa applicant has to fill up these form)". However to my knowledge none of other people that I knew of (basically parents around 60 years of age) had to fill up the DS-157 form.Though just to be on the safe side I've prepared the DS-157 forms for my parents (father 62y, mother 59y), does anybody knows what's going on around there at the embassy at Delhi

TIA
