Hello Everyone,

I am currently working in an IT company based out of Chennai.
My L1B visa has got rejected couple of years ago However I have got my H1B stamped few weeks back. I don't foresee to travel using my H1B at this moment as there is delay in getting a project.

I have my Girl friend who holds a Green card and would like to travel to US to meet her. I would like to know whether will there be any complication for my H1B if I apply for Visitor/Tourist visa? which visa should I apply for Visitor or Tourist visa? If it is going to be a visitor visa, Shall my GF send me an invitation letter? Will there be any issue either for me or for my GF current visa/GC status? What is the chance of getting a visitor visa for me? I am very much worried and its really high time that I need to meet her now. Can anyone please help me on this and I would be grateful if you could direct me asap. Thank you...

Visitor or tourist visa is the same thing. It is B2 visa.

If you get the sponsorship from your girlfriend, there may be complications such as suspicion that you will get married to her once you arrive in the U.S.

1. I am going to be on my own and no one is going to sponsor me. Should I still get an invite letter from someone in US?

2.If I get an invite letter from my girl friend (hope, I don't have to let the officer know that she is my Girl friend), Will there be still a complication as you have mentioned below?

Convincing the VO

The bottomline becomes that VO should be convinced that the intent of your travel is just to meet your girl friend and be back. Since you already have H1 VO can always think that you will apply for H1 transfer once in US or your intent is to get married to a GC holder and stay in US. We cant blame VO for thinking so as many people have done so in the past. For B2 visas VO need strong evidences that you will return back to India. Why cant you Girl Friend come to India? This is my opinion please do seek expert and legal help.

She can't travel back to india immediately as she is staying with her family and we are struggling hard enough to get our parents approval to get marry.

I have planned to be there only for 2 weeks and after that I will be back to India but not sure whether VO would consider this.

If I am on my own, How much should I have as my bank balance approximately??

Or Would it appropriate to reach out to any travel agents for any packages??? Please suggest me the best...really thank you for your time...

1. I am working in an IT company and getting decent salary. It would really help me to prepare myself ready for the interview If I know how much should I have as bank balance approxiamtely.
