My mom's visa is expiring in March, 07 but she would like to come in Apr or May since weather is too cold for her before April.
Do we need to re-apply for a new Visa? Can we book an appointment now, even if she has a valid Visa now? I couldn't find info on such case. I'd appreciate any help.

    Thanks.

Can I take the interview date for before Mar, 2007 ??

I'd like her to come in the last week of March and if I take interview date for Apr. I won't be able to buy tickets etc. before that which would delay the whole thing.

She has to enter usa BEFORE expiry of visa validity.Lemgth of stay depends on the POE.If you want her here in march and the visa is valid till march 07 what is your confusion.

Well... her Visa is expiring on Mar 27th, 2007 and if she comes here on 25th Mar and they see only 2 days left on her visa and she gets the stamp for only few days or just 1 month on I-94 at POE then it'll be waste of money on ticket. I didn't want to take a chance.

Has anybody had experience with such thing? Could they still stamp for 2-3 months?

I am asking this question because I saw this -

"Also, the USCIS generally will not extend your stay longer than the validity of your visa." on another website -

generally for H1 (that I know well), I-94 will be 1wk to 10 days more than of visa end date. for visitor it all depends on officer @ POE.
If just few days left on visa, officers may doubt the purpose of visitor and may sent back also.
I would say, try avoiding such risk
              Thx

                visa stay on B2 POE

Your concern is genuine. In practical we have heard of people getting visa for 2 - 3 months.During that period they will be permitted to enter usa.The stay validity is as noted on I 94 which has not bearing on the visa period. The passport should have validity. You can as well ring up to USCIS and ask whether she can enter as visitor on 25th Masrch with valid visa upto 27th march. Many times they reply.pl.try and also inform the forum.
                Good luck
