Hi All,
I need to apply Passport to my Kid(1 month Old) who born in India and currently am in US California. In India, inorder to apply Passport for Kid, they are asking for NOC/Affidavit from Indian Embassy. And they told to send that Affidavit through Post to India.
So, could you please help me out how to get NOC/Affidavit from Indian Embassy. What are all the steps to get Affidavit/NOC. Is it mandatory to have NOC to submit to India.
Also I heared that there are two options to get NOC i.e either sending the scanned copy of Birth Certificate of Child along with Money order and the other one is going directly to Indian Embassy.

Regarding Passport
Hello All,
I have received my passport but post police verification got incomplete because i was residing at different address. I am a permanent resident of Spain. I was here in India for 3 years, now i am going back to Spain for good on 13/01/2014. Without police verification is it possible for me to travel or there will be any problem at the Indian Airport (Immigration Dept)? Please reply me as soon as possible.

Passport changed post H4 petition approved
Hello All,
I came to US in April 2012 and my spouse H4 visa got approved with her father name as the sur name in the passport.I moved to a different employer and both of our Petitions got approved.She came back to india for her maternity delivery.When we applied passport for my baby,it was mentioned she should endorse my (spouse) name in the passport.When she applied for that,by default sur name is chnaged to my name and new passport is issed.When checked with passport office they mentioned these changes are effective may 2013 and no more they endorse the spouse name in the same passport and new passport would be issued.Keeping this in mind,i have below Questions.
1.Her H4 petition is aproved with her old passport ? Do i need apply another H4 petition for her?
2.Which passport details should i give in the DS160,while schedulig the interview?
3.Once she enters US with new passport ,will it be problem to chnage the ITIN and Satte Ids?

Answering Show cause notice from India while in US - Urgent Response Needed

Thanks for your attention to my post.
I have received show cause notice for my passport and they are telling me that I have suppressed material information while submitting application for passport. The type of show cause notice is PVR Review and it looks like it stands for police verification review.
If I recollect correctly what happened was, when I applied for passport there was police verification and I was out of station that time when they came for police verification. But my father went on behalf of me and provided all the details. Police sent report to passport office and I did receive my passport without any hassles. But after almost 1 year 3 months I am getting this show cause notice. I am right now in US and I am wondering how to deal with this situation. They have mentioned in the show cause notice to provide explanation and submit application again. Can you please help me with the below questions.
1. How do I respond to this show cause notice from US and what is the procedure?
2. Is there a way I can reach out Indian Embassy on this?
3. What happens if they ask me to submit passport application again? What will happen to my present passport while I am still in US? Do I have to go for stamping again? :(
4. Is there way this can be effectively handled from US it self?

In the mean time I have asked my Father to provide explanation to show cause notice and letting passport office know that I did not suppress any information. I hope they will understand what has happened and they will not ask me to submit the application form again.

Some what unpleasant passport re-issue experience at India PSK
Hi,
I want to share an experience at Counter B. I applied for re-issue for passport (a 14 yr old passport) to add my wife's name in it. At counter B officer told me that passport damaged and he asked me to provide affidavit “Annexure L” and pay extra 1500/-. I do not know why extra 1500 are needed here.
By the way when I asked what exactly is wrong with the passport, he told me some of the pages are faded on the top left due to moisture (watermarks). I did notice that but watermark were not more than 3 mm thick and all the information in the passport and stamps in the passport was fully intact. I found it sheer waste of time and money as I needed to again go back to PSK with the “annexure L” and extra 1500/-. Why do they need to worry about trivial damage in passport when anyway I applied for re-issue?

I submitted my application at 19th Sept 2012 Gurgaon & today I have received my Passport on
31st October 2012.
I just want to say that this service provided by Government is very good. Each and every stage , I got a transparent approach and there was nothing like “Sarkari Kam “ .
The status updates were sequentially-
1. Application submitted at Passport (19.09.2012)
2 . Passport detail sent to SP office(20.09.2012)
3 passport physical police verification pending at your Thana (21.09.2012(
4 police verification submitted at SP office by your respective thana. Now under SP office review (
3.10.2012)
5 Police verification report has been submitted by SP office (online only). Passport printing is in progress, you will get sms/mail after dispatch. (5.10.2012)
6. The passport will be dispatch after receiving report ( formally physically ). You will get sms/mail
after dispatch ( 12.10.2012 , This status was one time again updated but language was just almost same. We can consider this status shown for 2 weeks approx )
7 Passport dispatched on 29.10.2012. Tracking Id are **** **** ***.
The bottle neck is police verification. Generally after submission of application within 2 weeks , you might be called at your respective police station. Then your local thana will definitely submit their report within 7 days ( since the day you visited Thana). Then SP office will intimate Passport kendr ( I think online document ). At this stage when your passport showing printing stage , it means you are getting your passport 100% . Then after receiving police verification formally as previously only intimation was given to save time. As soon as PSK receives your report. Then you can expect within 3 days your Passport will be dispatch by speed post. & you can expect within 2-3 days you will get your PASSPORT. About the status I have pasted
My personal experience is awesome. At every stage , I have felt a good atmosphere dealing with PSK & police persons. Nothing was delayed. Everything was going smoothly expected. Thanks to Passport department & police Staff for their best service efforts. We hope every department of our India adopt this culture.

spelling mistake in surname 2yrs old Passport(it is correct in application form)
I got passport with spelling mistake in my surname one and half year back, but I am very sure that it was correct in application from. I heard that i may have to re-apply for passport since it is more than 6 months. Please let me know what action i have to take..

US Visa rejection being Genuine

I had applied for my US visa last month, I reason i want to travel to the US is to attend my cousin brothers wedding. I carried all my import papers along with I134 affidavit, but the counsil officer rejected me under section 214B, without even looking at the documents I carried. I went a month later for my 2nd interview which was worse the officer asked me 3 questions and rejected me again. How do I make sure he looks at all the documents that show evidence i will return to my home country,
