Return Label VFS
I am trying to create a new application for passport renewal but create label system is not allowing me to generate return label. I remember I created return label for my spouse passport renewal 3 weeks back.
Will VFS create a label and send PP back? or I need to generate return label from Fedex and provide with my application?

Indian passport reissue from Norway
I sent an application for renewal of my daughters passport on 15th Jan, and we incidentally had to book tickets for going to India due to a family medical emergency on 27th Feb.
The status now shows (on 12th Feb) that the Passport is printed. How long does it take to be delivered in the Embassy in Oslo, Norway? I was reading that now a days the delivery to embassies take more than 10 days? Is that true? Anyone who recently applied from EU embassies?
Just anxious as we have a flight on 27th Feb.
I will write more about my experience soon - including giving a hefty bribe to police to carry out the PV (on 6th Feb - after no activity since 16th Jan when we got notified about the PV process)

No acknowledgement email from VFS New York
I had sent an application for the reissuance of Indian passport (normal) to the VFS New York office and my application was delivered to VFS by USPS on January 27, 2026. I haven't received any acknowledgement email from VFS so far.
Do VFS office in New York take a few days to send the acknowledgement email?

VFS shows passport dispatched but no tracking
I applied for a passport reissue since mine was expiring. I visited on 9/24 and dropped my documents. The speed was normal and not tatkal.
VFS showed a status change and says passport dispatched as of 10/2 (which was surprisingly quick). It has been 3 business days after that but I don't see the package being handed to FedEx yet.
I checked the portal4 site too and it earlier has said printed and sent to osp even before the police verification was complete. But since the police verification got completed the print status, the status on portal4 went back to "being reviewed by embassy". I do think they just try to read off the latest activity on the case and do not trust this website status completely
VFS call center disconnects me and I havent been able to reach a live agent yet.
What should I do?

Indian Passport renewal at Houston consulate - timeline / delays
Hey folks, just wanted to see if anyone else is in the same boat with the Indian consulate in Houston for passport renewal.
Here’s my timeline:
Sept 4 – Sent my renewal application to VFS through FedEx
Sept 5 – VFS received it
Sept 8 – Got the acknowledgment update
Sept 11 – VFS sent it to the consulate, status on Passport Seva changed to “Under Review”
…and it’s been sitting there ever since. No police verification, no further updates.
Kinda curious if this is just the usual wait time right now or if things are moving super slow in Houston specifically. If you’ve submitted recently, how’s your timeline looking?
Would be good to know if others are stuck in the same spot.

It took 8 days to receive passport. Sent it out on a Tuesday, received passport next Wednesday.
27th May 2025 - Dropped off package at FedEx
28th May 2025 - FedEx package delivered to VFS
28th May 2025 - Got email from VFS in the afternoon informing that they have received my application
29th May 2025 - Got email from VFS - Application processed at VFS and sent to Embassy.
29th May 2025 - Applictaion status in Embassy website " Application received, under review". But no email form Embassy.
30th May 2025 - Embassy website status "Application processed and Passport print initiated."
30th May 2025 - Embassy website status "Police verification sent to local police station."
31st May 2025 - Embassy website status "Police visited home in India and asked few questions. Verification done."
2nd June 2025 - Embassy website status "Passport printed."
2nd June 2025 - Embassy website status "Passport will be delivered shortly to OSP (VFS office)."
2nd June 2025 - Embassy website status "Passport delivered to OSP."
3rd June 2025 - Later in the evening around 4:45pm, received email from VFS stating that passport will be sent out thru' FedEx. Also received email form FedEx stating that I will be receiving package tomorrow.
4th June 2025 - Received passport Old and New) around noon (Standard Overnight delivery).
Notes:
1. Address in the government application, I gave India address as my main address and US address as secondary address.
2. In the "ANNEXURE ‘E’" and "Affidavit-for-change-in-appearance" forms, you need to give US address only.
3. Photo - I did not use their passport service.
4. Indian Embassy will not send any email but you can check status online in their website.
5. VFS sent emails promptly but I could not check status online in their website. Everytiem I try checking status, it just gave error message. Then I understood I was not alone.
