My lawyer's office has not received a letter either.
Mine was scheduled on 11/9 and I have not received the letter either. I called USCIS and they told me to call them back tomorrow.
180 day renewal is spelled out on i-797c, which is what dmv is referring to and it should get sent to you automatically.
You need USCIS to send you a I-797c, aka notice of receipt, which should arrive within two weeks. Hang in there, my interview was just scheduled...
