MIAMI office - over 3 years wait fort the GC
Hi Everyone.
just felt like sharing my case to give hope to those who have been waiting a loooong time like I did.
Jan 2017 - filed I-485 / I-765 / I-130
Mar 2017 - fingerprints
May 2017 - received my first EAD card (had to reapply a few times)
2018 - nothing happened during the whole year
Feb 2019 - interview was scheduled
Mar 2019 - interview
Apr 2020 - case approved / new card ordered / card delivered
Total wait was about 40 months.
I had a DUI in 2014 that was reduced to reckless driving. Even though it was a simple case, it triggers more background checks.
Interview couldn't have gone any better. Within 5 minutes of conversation the officer said she had no doubts our marriage was real and we spent the rest of the time giving her the documents she requested and talking about the pictures.
They never requested any extra documents.
After 3 months of the interview I began to inquire online why case was taking longer than expected. That was a frustrating process because I kept receiving the same answer "Case under extended review". The last inquiry response arrived 2 days before the I-485 approval. On a monday I received by mail the response saying my case was under extended review and on wednesday the case was approved.
Due to all the wait I received my green card valid for 10 years.

Just a quick question, I opened my email this morning to discover that my company filed for unemployment on my behalf. My PD is sept 2018, had my interview June 2019 and I still waiting for a response from USCIS.

Not heard anything San diego
Gave interview based on AOS in March second week and not heard back on any update. The interview went good and the interviewer told I will receive an update within 3 weeks.

Responding to RFE
In responding to RFE (i.e., medical report only). Is it necessary to include a cover letter in addition to the copy of the RFE and the sealed medical report? I am asking because, I received RFE for my medical exam report. In responding, I only mailed the sealed medical report together with a copy of the RFE.

Interview canceled without prior scheduling

Thanks for your support and valuable comments.
My I-485 application was filed non-concurrently back in October 2019 (based on a National Interest Waiver approved petition filed in March 2019 and approved in September 2019). I received my combo card in the late December and my PR case became on the RTS phase in mid February 2020. No action took place until March 26, when I received a status update that my interview was canceled although it has never been scheduled. I believe the cancelation happened due to COVID-19 pandemic. The USCIS online status checking site says:
"On March 26, 2020, we cancelled the interview scheduled for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSC2090 **** **. We will notify you by mail if the appointment is rescheduled, a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you...."
I did not receive any cancelation notice (I was not expecting any based on the status update content) nor a rescheduling letter.
After a while I noticed in my USCIS account's "Next Steps" section the following:
"We will issue our decision and mail it to you. Any action or step you may need to take will be on your decision notice."
Do you think my interview will be/is waived? Please note that all the required documents were filed altogether (medicals etc...). I am an EB2-NIW ROW, filing for myself with no dependents (my child is a USC though).

stimulus check
Dear people I have just one question about stimulus check I just wandering if I take stimulus check from US government it will affect my adjustment of status it is consider that I taking public charge .? I filled out with my wife joint taxes 2019 and I have EAd and I pay taxes from my job since January 2020 so I just wandering can I take this check with my peace in mind or better to not take because of my application because I'm not sure it is that consider that I taking public charge or not..?God bless for everyone
