I am waiting for my AOS & AP and have been informed that it was received on December 17th. My mother is getting remarried in April in my home country (UK) and I would like to attend. My question is will my AP come in time, and will it be ok for when I come back?

an i travel in advance parole after AOS interview and case still pending?
I need to travel outside US and we had our AOS interview family base through my US citizen wife. Since I-130 documents was sent to NVC the IO at USCIS couldn't give us the case approval because he didn't have the document with him. So i don't know how long is it going to take to get the case approval. So if i travel during this case pending will it be a issue. And what if the AOS gets approved while i am outside US can i still re-enter US with the same advance parole?

Advance Parole Travel While Waiting For Interview
Hi all - Has anyone used Advance Payroll to travel abroad to another country (outside your home country) for a vacation?

My best friend's wedding coming up in January which is in Mexico (my home country is India). I am just curious if anyone has done this as Advance Parole guidelines suggest we should only travel on humanitarian reasons.

Can some of you share your experiences ? Any issues you guys experienced at port of entry?

Expedite Advance Parole for DACA
I would like to share my experience about requesting an expedite advance parole under DACA program.
I am currently under DACA (already renewed) and had my maternal grandfather very sick and decided to request parole. We received the original documents from the doctor in Mexico on Sunday July 27, 2015. On Monday went to the Federal Building in Los Angeles but they said we had to go to the Filed Office in our Area so we had to drive to the San Fernando Valley Field Office, once arrived the officer said we have to arrive at 6:30am the next day for us to be able to talk to an officer if we didn't have an appointment.
So we went back on Tuesday, we were the third in line and we had all the forms, fee's, pictures; the officer then asks for the reason of your emergency and I told him that my grandfather was very sick, he didn't even ask for any papers, just said that the only way they give advance parole - same day is if the person has died. I came home and sent it next day and wrote EXPEDITE REQUEST on top, two days after I called USCIS and they submitted the application I-131 to be expedite but was not guaranteed.
My grandfather passed away on August 9, 2015 and I received approval notice August 10, 2015 and valid only for 30 days with expiration date September 10, 2015.
Very frustrated because I was not able to see my grandpa before dying but was able to travel to Mexico after 13 years and returned safe, I was on the waiting room for approx. 20 mins, no questions asked, just stamps on my passport and parole.
Hope it helps.

Travel with advanced Parole when your status is expired
I have applied for i-485, i-765, i-131 and gave the biometrics on 24th Sepetember, 2015. My F1 Opt was expired on July 12, 2015. And according to the local field processing dates for Santa Ana, CA the timeframe for AOS is 8-10 months. But i need to travel back home on January and it will be around 180 days after my F1 Opt would be expired. Is it safe to travel with the advanced Parole with my AOS pending? Also my country has TPS designated by USCIS should i apply TPS to be in status and Travel. But would it affect my current AOS process?

Thanks.

I-485 Denied because we left USA without advance parole! Devasted!
I am a US citizen and brought my fiancé and her two kids over from the UK on a K-1 Visa. We married within the 90 days and applied for legal immigration status by filing the I-485.

While the application was pending we crossed over the US border to go to the beach in Mexico (Rocky Point) and returned across the border several hours later. We were told at the border that we weren't supposed to leave the US without advance parole. We didn't know we weren't supposed to leave but were let back in to the USA. Yesterday we received a letter telling us our I-485 has been denied due to this incident and for wife and kids to immediately leave the USA! We are devastated because my wife and kids have lives here now--in school, society, new friends, etc. Is there anything we can do for them to legally stay and try to overcome the I-485 denial?

Using AP
Hi can anyone please throw in there thoughts about this experience. I just want to share a strange experience I had at the Mexican border with the intention of using mg AP (advance parole). I am a Philippine national with pending AOS. I have an AP that has not been used and active. Currently I am on H4 with NOA to back it up. I have no H4 visa on my passport since this is obtained at the embassy of origin, Philippines, and I have not gone home since my last visa expired. I was going to use my AP at Mexican border. So I went in and came back and presented myself at the US immigration at the border. I showed them my AP/EAD card. The immigration officer (IO) looked strange on my card, walked up, talked to his supervisor, and came back. Then he asked me if I have a visa. I showed him my old passport which has an old H1B visa. I also showed my current H4 NOA. He looked more confused! The supervisor came over and told him it is ok. He tore up the bottom of the H4 NOA and stapled it on my old passport which has the old H1B visa. Pointing at it, he indicated to the IO that it is itself my visa. I told them I wanted to use the AP card. Supervisor said maybe we use it the next time I come back. I insisted but he said his supervisor said this is the right procedure. So I left. On my way I realized he did even stamp on my passport. I was worried because there is no proof I came back legally. I went back to him and he told me that they do not stamp on the border unlike in the airports and that I need not worry because all my records are already in the computer.
1. At the port of entry to US, do we get a "stamp in" on our passport?
2. He stapled the bottom of NOA on the old H1B visa on the old passport, is that OK?
3. Why did he chose to use my H4 rather my parole which is also active?
4. is this going to pose some problems in the future for me?

Advance Parole
Hi Everyone,

So just a little background on myself so anyone can probably answer my question better.

I'm from Costa Rica. I came to the United States with my father 10 years ago. I currently live in the state of North Carolina. Im 19 years old.

I applied for the Deferred Action, and It was granted which now authorizes me to work and gives me a temporary status in the U.S.

So my questions is.. Can i apply for Advance Parole to go back home to Costa Rica and visit my mom that I have not seen in over 10 years? or is the Advance Parole just for an EMERGENCY?

What are my chances of getting approved? and will i have any trouble entering back the United States?

If anyone could respond, I would GREATLY appreciate it.

Thank you!!!!!

Expedited Advance Parole
We applied for Advance Parole because my husband needed to travel for work. We didn't send this with the I-485 and I-130 because we weren't sure if we'd need it and I also had gotten the impression it takes about 30 days. Later on, I learned it takes about 3 months. When we applied, then, we needed it expedited, which I wrote on the form, and we included evidence. When we received the notice that our application was received, however, there was no mention of the expedite request. We called, and the officer wasn't sure but he thought that probably meant it wasn't expedited. He helped us put in a service request to have the application expedited. At this point, I want to pause and recommend that if you're expediting an application, call as soon as you see the status updated online, instead of waiting for the notice to arrive in the mail and to tell you if it was expedited. This delayed everything for us and we ended up quite anxious.

We waited and monitored the status after submitting the service request. It was about a week later, I think, that we saw online that they had made a decision. We called, and learned that the decision was to reject the expedite request but requesting that we fax additional info (employer letter). At this point, I also want to pause and recommend that you make sure you have all of this material before you submit your application. In the end, waiting for and getting all the notices that allowed us to submit the additional information delayed our application. The officer was able to read us the letter, but said we have to wait for the notice in the mail in order to fax it in with the additional information. It was almost two weeks since they'd mailed it, and we still hadn't received it, so we called again, and at the second level of customer service, we were given the fax number, the case number, and advised to send it in even without the notice. We did this, and within two days, the request was approved only. Even more miraculously, the documents arrived the next business day in the mail. BTW, we never received that notification that we had been waiting on for so long before faxing our additional evidence.
