04/02 - Got Biometrics request letter from IRCC. Scheduled biometric appointment at Los Angeles VAC
04/04 - Went to Los Angeles VAC to do my biometrics.
04/04 - Biometrics details updated on the online account.
04/08 - Got passport request letter from IRCC.
04/10 - Mailed (UPS) the following to Los Angeles VAC
1. Passport

3. Two signed TT services consent form
4. Paid Return label from UPS

04/11 - First notification from VFS - "Visa application has been dispatched to the IRCC Office"

04/22 - Received my Passport back in mail with visa stamped. :-)
Notes: Between 04/15 to 04/22 I was pretty tensed as I had selected 1 day shipping and was expecting it to arrive at 04/16. However, seems sometimes there is a delay(from VAC or UPS I couldn't figure out) even after VFS says that passport has been couriered. Based on my experience I would suggest you wait for a 5-7 days before worrying about it.

04/12 - Submitted mine as well as dependent passports to VAC NY through UPS mail
04/15- (AM) Received @ NY office. (PM) - Received Tracking ID stating I need to resend money order

L1 Blanket - Vancouver
Hello Everyone,
Here's my experience for L1 blanket stamping in Vancouver.
To reach consulate on the day of interview

1. Take a cab, don't carry mobile phones or backpack because there are no lockers.
2. For return cab you can directly talk to the cab driver or take a public transport for which you can take a transport card worth 5$.
3. If you still want to drive, you have to take Canadian coins with you for street parking.
4. There is a public parking right opposite to the consulate or look for IMM PARK near consulate which may take 20mins by walk (pay parking everywhere).
At the consulate

1. Be on time, no need to rush or be early because they wont let you in. There is a park right next to it or a Starbucks if you still want to be early.
2. DS-160 and usual check outside consulate.
3. Floor -1 : document verification (may take 30-45 mins depending on crowd).
4. Floor -2 : visa interview (once you walk up to the officer, they will direct you to cashier for fees payment and then you need to return to the same counter for interview)

2. April 6, 2019 - 2 notifications/updates in my cic profile. 'Confirmation of Online Application Transmission' and 'Submission Confirmation'.
3. April 7, 2019 - 'Biometrics Collection Letter' notification/update in my cic profile.
4. April 11, 2019 - Provided Biometrics at New York VAC. Appointment was needed. I booked the appointment at https://www.vfsglobal.ca/Canada/usa/schedule-an-appointment.html. Original Passport and 'Biometrics Collection Letter' printout were needed for the appointment.
5. April 15, 2019 - 2 notifications/updates in my cic profile. 'Correspondence Letter' and 'Original Passport Request'.
6. April 17,2019 - Dropped off my passport in person at New York VAC. No appointment needed. Printout of Passport request, Original Passport, 2 signed consent forms, Contact information printout (address, email and ph no) and payment of USD 19.90. They accept cards. They gave me a receipt.
7. April 18, 2019 - Passport ready for pick up. 5 email notifications from VFS between April 17th and 18th.
8. April 22, 2019 - Picked up the passport in person. The receipt which they gave during passport drop off and id proof (US driving license/state id) were needed for passport pick up.
Instead of going in person, Passport dropoff and pick up can be done through post/courier. But I would strongly suggest to do it in person. During my 3 visits (biomentrics, passport dropoff, passport pickup) to New York VAC, Many people who chose the postal method were there to complain about that their passports were not received.

Can anyone tell me what is the maximum waiting period the any update from the high commission of canada in new Delh, it’ have been 61 days there is no update from the canadian high commission and i am little bit upset about my application

USPS Passport Delivery to VAC, NY
Has anyone shipped their passport to NY VAC via USPS? I sent through USPS and tracking shows below error.
We attempted to deliver your package at 10:53 am on April 19, 2019 in NEW YORK, NY 10036 but could not access the delivery location. We will redeliver on the next business day.
May be I should have chosen UPS over USPS.

Canada visa from USA query - no update after biometrics
I have applied canada visa in CA for my family and request came for biometrics for me and my wife. For my daughter, the request for passport has come. We both went to biometrics on April 11th. The request for passport has come for me, yesterday. For my wife, there is no update yet. Is there any contact center, where we can ask a query regarding this. Any one else faced similar issue.

Canada Transit Visa
I am an H1B visa holder with Indian passport. I found out that I need a transit visa for Canada even though you are transiting within the airport just change of flights.
Yesterday 04/08 - applied online for transit visa online.
Today 04/-09 - I got a request for Passport submission.
I am confused as I did not get any biometric request. Is this normal process for transit visa?
My flight from USA to India via Toronto- Canada is in 22 days. Hopefully I get the transit visa within this time.
