Filed AOS but Category did not Change to IR though Spouse is Citizen
Hello All,

Initially my spouse was Lawful pernmanent Resident (LPR) and I was student and we applied for I-130, it was approved and my category was F2A in that approved Notice. Recently Spouse got Citizenship and I applied for adjustment of Status (AOS) and also gave a call to USCIS customer center informing my Wife got Citizenship ,so need to change Category or update the case, they gave me a confirmation number for that service request and requested to wait 30 until days. We gave a call to USCIS before 30 days and they suggested to wait until 30 days to get something in mailbox or Phone call but we did not get anything by 30 days today. Also lot of attorney online suggested to go for INFOPASS to change that category and we went to local USCIS today and asked about it but the person in local USCIS said he is not able to change that category and said that NVC needs to send all the I-130 documents to USCIS and also he was unknown about confirmation number provided by USCIS customer center a month ago, instead he was wondering about it. He said it is not the job of USCIS and suggested to wait at least 5 month. He said F2A does not matter but lot of attorney online suggested me to visit local USCIS and fix the category to IR. I am confused now. Does this F2A category in NOA of I-485 delay my interview date. Any suggestion or similar experience will be great.

Thanks
