Received Green Card – Category: F2B – Adult Child of LPR
Happy to receive Permanent Resident Card at hand. It took around 7 years from I-130 submission date. The timeline is:
Priority date: Dec 2012
I-485 received by USCIS: Sep 2018
Priority date became current (Visa Bulletin): May 2019
Interview letter received:3rd week of Aug 2019
Interview location: Houston
Interview held: 24 Sep, 2019
Green Card in hand through mail: 28 Sep 2019
Two important things I would like to add about interview:
(1) Took my father who is my petitioner. It really helped to get the approval at the end of the interview.
(2) I took a letter from my employer stating my position, direct employee, full time employment and my annual salary. This letter was also a great help to get my GC approval.

Good luck to all of you to this journey! Hope to interact with you again in the citizenship forum after ~5 years.

I-130 for F4 Processing Time
Hi!

My brother (US citizen) had submitted the I-130 for me in January 2015 for the F4 category. It’s November 2019 now, but still it says “your case was received” when we check for updates in the USCIS site. The center that’s handling this case is California.

Can someone tell me usually how long does it take for an I-130 for F4 handled by California Service Center to get approved?

Thanks.

Okc filer.
I have a silent reader on this website. It has helped me a lot. Long story short. Met my spouse a few years ago. Got married and moved from dc to Oklahoma. I actually quit my job and business to relocate in okc.
We filled on August 1st 2019.
Fingerprinting was scheduled for August 30th but we had to travel so we walked in on August 21st and got them done.
Interview was done today at 130pm In okc.
Approved on the spot.

The iO didn’t really ask to many questions. She asked how we met and how long we dated before getting married. My wife was a strident and out of stayed since she went out of status. She also explained to the IO that she worked without papers. My wife also has two DUI with one still going on. All we had to show was they all had been paid including all the receipts and that was it.

She looked at our photo album and some of our bills together.

She didn’t take any new evidence except the latest DUI paperwork.

Then she said approved and your card should be in the mail in 10days

Total time was 3months from filing to approval. No ead. Just green card.

Good luck to everyone.
This website really help me understand and be patient.

I-130 pending
Hey All,

I wanted to share my green card processing timeline (it is still pending). We applied I-130 in 2017 October based on my Husband (GC holder). We were waiting to get an approval notice for I-130 to apply for I-485 and didn't follow visa bulletin (wasted few months to apply for I-485). In April 2019 we applied for I-485 along with I765 and I-131 (went to NBC) and in May 2019 had my fingerprint appointment. In July 2019, my I-130 application was transferred to NBC from California center. Is there any way to find out about my I-130 application status as I can't check processing time for I-130 for NBC (its not there in the dropdown option). I am still waiting for my EAD too, is there any way I can expedite the process as my PD is October 2017.

Thank you so much in advance.

Accompanying the principal applicant

I received a letter from NVC that it is time to process the immigrant visa as a visa is available for an I-130 filed over 14 years ago. However, the principal applicant has children older than 18 years that was supposed to be accompanying principal applicant in the application. Can they still accompany him now that they are older than 18 years or older.

April Filer - Rhode Island- Johnston Office
Hi there,
Providence
Timeline:

4/15/19 - Case Received
(This was for both:AOE i485 AND
Combo card (Employment Authorization + Travel Doc)

4/19/19 - Accepted Fingerprint Fee / working on case

7/17/19 - R.F.E Letter
(requesting updates tax returns for my sponsor)

8/19/19 - R.F.E Received / working on case

9/5/19 - Ready to schedule interview (A.O.E)

9/16/19 - Interview Scheduled

10/17/19 - Interview @ Johnston Office - Rhode Island

(Ps* Interview could’ve gone better if we had better prepared- we live together and thought since it was legit we had nothing to worry about. BIG MISTAKE! We arrived half hour before, my husband was called in first, alone 20 min before the actual scheduled time. He was in the room for 40 min then I was called in, stayed in for 20 minutes, then they called him back in for another 5 minutes... We have travel plans for Nov 8th and I brought the tickets for both myself and my husband, she didn’t want to see it. Only after seeing my combo card she mentioned I COULD leave the country without worries but I might not go at all since I havent heard anything back from the interview and don’t want us both being gone when they could ask for more evidence. I had taken a folder with a ton of bank statements, life insurance paperwork, credit card statements, travel (weekend getaway) receipts, 2 photo álbuns - 1 of the wedding and 1 with all sorts of pics for everything we had done until the weekend before the interview in case they wanted to keep any of them - she hardly looked at them - sad. I had spent MONTHS putting together my beautiful wedding album and our “adventures” album. :(
As of now I’m waiting for them to either show up at our house or another RFE letter.... I did miss out on some other docs such as car insurance paperwork, junk mail, birthday cards, anniversary cards, Our joint taxes, yup, I forgot to bring a printed copy of our joint taxes...

Advice if I may : prepare, prepare, prepare- take all the docs you have, go over basic information and put down a timeline of dates on paper so you don’t BLANK OUT. It is intense being interrogated knowing your future depends on it and I totally blanked out multiple times.

I download the paid version of the USCIS
app but yet nothing has been up Updated, neither via mail nor via the app)

Good luck and where are all the Rhode Island filers???
